Dr. Salim Esmail is an orthopaedic surgeon, certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
He received his M.D. degree at the University of Alberta.
Dr. Salim Esmail then traveled east to Montreal, where he elected to pursue a rigorous five year training program in orthopaedic medicine and surgery. This was followed by one year of orthopaedic fellowship training program at Toronto General Hospital.
He then moved to Edmonton, where he has a successful orthopaedic medicine and surgery practice.
In addition to regular orthopaedic medicine and surgery, Dr. Esmail enjoys performing assessment of clinical impairment and disability on patients who have been injured in motor vehicle accidents, workers compensation injuries, slip and fall accidents.
He also enjoys assessing patients with chronic disabilities due to conditions like severe generalized arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and other chronic soft-tissue diseases.
As an independent medical legal expert, he has experience in writing medical legal reports on personal injuries. He prepares 500 to 600 high-quality medical legal reports per year. He also has extensive experience of consultation and examining claimants involved in rolled traffic accidents, slip and fall accidents and worker�s compensation injuries. He has attended many medical legal courses for report writing etc. The instructions he receives are 70% for claimants, 10% for the defendents and 20% on a joint basis. He travels to various locations in Canada to conduct medical legal examinations.
He has expanded his practice and performs such evaluations in Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver.
