Dr. Salim Esmail

 

Dr. Salim Esmail is an Orthopaedic Surgeon, certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.


He received his M.D. Degree at the University of Alberta.


Dr. Salim Esmail then traveled to Montreal, where he elected to pursue a rigorous five-year training program in Orthopaedic Medicine & Surgery at the Montreal General Hospital. This was followed by one year of an Orthopaedic Fellowship Training Program at Toronto General Hospital.


He then moved to Edmonton, where he has a successful Orthopaedic Medicine and Surgery practice. His main office is in Edmonton. He also travels to Calgary to conduct Medical Legal Examinations.


Dr. Esmail performs assessments of Clinic Impairment and Disability on people who have been injured in motor vehicle accidents, worker's compensation injuries, and slip-and-fall accidents.


He performs assessments on people with chronic long-term disabilities due to conditions like severe generalized arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and other chronic soft-tissue diseases.


As an independent Medical Legal expert, he prepares around 500 high quality Medical Legal Reports per year. He also has extensive experience with examining claimants involved in roll-over traffic accidents, slip-and-fall accidents, and Worker's compensation injuries. He has attended many Medical Legal courses for report writing, etc. The referrals he receives are 70% from plaintiffs, 10% from defendants, and 20% on a joint basis.
